How much do freelancers make?

Here's hoping for a reply on this. I'm looking into careers and I'd like to know some info on freelance writers.

So, what education is needed? And, how much does an average freelance writer make a year?

Hi Starflower, I think MistyBlue will probably be better at answering this one as she freelances, but I would say that payment probably varies from person to person. I mean freelancing means basically submitting work to publishers as and when you feel like it, so its like being self employed really, the more you put in the you get out.. but for more concrete answers other freelancers are better to comment on it than me.
