Hello all

Hello everyone,

I am or should I say was a big reader until I had my baby...I can't read at the moment as he just tries to eat the book, and when he's asleep I'm either too busy or too tired but will get back to it soon I hope. On the active side I write poetry, but have recently had a go at a couple of writing excersises....don't be supprised if when I post things on here they are not very good, and please don't be mean in critiqueing....

Hi crakan...tell us a bit about yourself

Nothing interesting to report i'm afraid. I'm 40 yrs male, live with my eldest son. Always fancied having a go at writing a book, never had the confidence to do so, but realise now that life's too short to keep beating myself up. So here I am listening and learning how to tackle the devil. Words!!

well, from experience, exciting does not nessesarily mean good! So don't worry about it, I must prefer not exciting to unusual, starange and bad :-)
Hope you get the confidence to try your had at a book, will look forward to reading something of yours on here....I had a go at one of the excercises on here and I can't write for toffee!

I've only read one of your pieces but I thought it was good. I need to check that post again when I get time.

Anyway I know what you mean about not having time with a baby. How olds your little one at the moment?

Oh and don't be so hard on yourself everyone's learning at the moment. In my day job. I look at stuff (computer code) that I wrote a couple of years ago. It makes me shudder. What was I thinking. Hopefully In another couple of years I look at what I write now and shudder. It means that I'm progressing, becoming good at something isn't that easy. When you stop feeling your old stuff could be improved you've become stagnent.
